This coming August, the provincial government of Quezon will hold the Niyogyugan Festival as part of the week-long celebration of the 135th birth anniversary of Manuel L. Quezon and to restore the coconut industry in the province.
The Niyog-yugan festival or the ‘celebration of the tree of life’ derived from the word ‘niyog’ (coconut) and ‘yugyug’ (to move to a beat). The festival will be highlighted by a float parade, street dancing and the search for the festival queen.
