Casa de Comunidad de Tayabas

Tayabas old tribunal is a famous landmark. Constructed in 1831 when Don Diego Enriquez was gobernadorcillo, it is primarilty designed as a guesthouse for visiting Spanish dignitaries. It was in this tribunal  where Apolinario de la Cruz known as Hermano Pule was sentence to death by firing squad in 1841 for leading the first major revolt in the country, based on religious freedom.

The structure was declared a National Historical Landmark in 1978 which is the biggest "bahay na bato" ever restored by the National Historical Institute. Now, the tribunal houses the local museum, a function rooms and the municipal library.
