It is dubbed as the "The Big Dome of the South,"[1] being the second largest coliseum in the Philippines after the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manila. It opened in August 2010 and has a maximum seating capacity of more than 12,000 spectators. Its construction started in 2009.
