13th Alimango Festival set on March 18 - 22

The municipality of Lala in Lanao del Norte is all set for the 13th year celebration of its Alimango Festival that culminates during the Araw ng Lala on March 22, the festival was held in line with the thrust of National Leadership and the vision of the Department of Tourism to promote and enhance community-based development and sustainable tourism.




The festival promotes a community-based and eco-oriented agricultural tourism which centers the display, sale and promotion of alimango which abounds in the coastal barangays of Lala in the province of Lanao del Norte, situated along Panguil Bay.

The highlights of the festival are the Alimango Street Dance Contest, showing off a package of native and indigenous costumes and dances, depicting and promoting local cultures and traditions, and alimango-inspired motifs of the Ati-atihan dancers; and the 2014 Miss Lala Pageant.
