The Virgin Island in Panglao, Bohol.

The Virgin Island in Panglao, Bohol.

Virgin Island is one of the several islands in the province of Bohol. It is a twenty-minute boat ride from Whites and Greens Beach Resort in Libaong, Panglao.

Technically speaking, the Virgin Island is only a sandbar. Even during low tide, the center part of this crescent moon shaped islet is submerged under 6 inches of water.

The place is peaceful and really good for picturials because of those trees which covered the island. There are no accommodations or infrastructures in this small unspoiled island but this only adds to its peaceful charm.

Tiwi, Albay

Tiwi is a 1st class municipality in the province of Albay. This place began as a barrio of Malinao, Albay before it formally became a town in 1696.

Originally named "Tigbi" by the Spanish Franciscan frirs in 1658, the name Tigbi was derived from the name of the plant, a gabi look-alike, which grew abundantly in the area. However, the was later changed to Tivi, and then finally to its present name, Tiwi.
